Audi Q7 Reviews

One of the best in class, the seven-seat Audi Q7 is not only very practical but supremely comfortable, quiet and luxurious

Despite being one of the early champions of four-wheel drive, it took Audi a little while before it introduced its own SUV. The Q7 was released in 2006, and now in its second generation hasn’t deviated much from the formula of the original. Majoring on luxury, refinement and seven-seat practicality, the new version builds on the old model’s strengths while adding sharper styling, more efficient engines and a whole lot more technology. Based on the MLB Evo platform that it shares with the Volkswagen Touareg, Porsche Cayenne and even Bentley Bentayga, the new Q7 is lighter than before, to the benefit of performance, efficiency, handling and comfort.

The BMW M2 is a fast, wild and exciting drive, yet also offers good value and surprising practicality

Jaguar F-Pace Reviews

Jaguar gets it right first time out with the F-Pace, its new SUV fighting for top honours against stiff competition

The F-Pace offers almost everything that buyers of premium SUVs want and expect. Unsurprisingly, considering Jaguar’s recent form in this area, it’s rather handsome. Quite understandably, that alone could be enough for many. Typical of Jaguar, it’s also great to drive, displaying outstanding chassis balance, composure and responsiveness. Perhaps surprisingly, however, its plush cabin is actually very practical and spacious as well. Only some slightly low-rent cabin materials and a four-cylinder diesel that’s somewhat lacking in refinement let it down, according to Jaguar F-Pace reviews.

BMW X1 Reviews

The BMW X1 is a fine all-round performer, and a huge step on from its flawed predecessor

The X1 is a highly competent small SUV of great all-round ability. Great to drive, good to look at and with a satisfyingly premium feel (and badge), it satisfies those who are looking for a feel-good, luxury product. Yet, at the same time, with all the space you could reasonably need or expect, plenty of practical cabin features that make living with it a breeze, and the potential for excellent fuel economy, it appeals to the head, just as much as it does the heart. It’s certainly not the cheapest car in its class, but it is one of the best.

Fiesta ST Reviews

The Fiesta ST is a thrilling hot hatch, but more than that it’s an excellent all-rounder

Hot hatches generally have to be dual-purpose machines, required to provide thrills and performance when it’s asked of them, but to be useable, practical, affordable, everyday cars at all other times. And, according to Fiesta ST reviews, very few cars get close to fulfilling this versatile role as well as the small Ford does. Of course, it helps that the ST is based on the highly talented Fiesta. The Fiesta’s excellent driving manners have been transferred to the ST, new car reviews state, but with excitement levels ramped up considerably. Class-leading dynamics mean amazing body control, a neutral handling balance with very little understeer, well-weighted and precise controls and great traction coming out of bends.

New Audi A3

Good things come in threes. New Audi A3 is the best yet

The new Audi A3 has been brought right up to date with new engines, major technology updates and what Audi is calling ‘styling refinements’. It may look similar to the previous model, but the A3 is now Audi’s biggest selling model of the entire range and, with these latest updates, the A3 will continue to be a very tempting alternative to the BMW 1 Series and VW Golf. It should be easier to justify the cost as well, considering just how much technology now comes as standard. For example, you’ll find automatic xenon headlights, automatic wipers and cruise control, even on the most basic models.A new three-cylinder 1.0-litre petrol engine is now available, as well as a newly developed 2.0-litre petrol, while the hot new Audi S3 gets a boost in power to a ludicrous 305.8bhp. The S3 range gets the same cosmetic updates as the standard A3 family to help further increase its sharp and sporty exterior. The real highlights are the addition of the optional Audi virtual cockpit, which has also found its way onto recent models like the new Audi A4 and the new Audi TT. A 12.3-inch screen replaces traditional moving dials and displays everything, including the speedometer, satellite navigation maps and the radio station you’re currently listening to. The 2016 new Audi A3 may look like a modest update, but why change something that’s already doing very well? If you want a premium car that feels years ahead of the competition in terms of technology, the Audi A3 is now even better than before.

New MINI Seven

New Mini Seven announced. Design inspiration taken from classic Austin Mini

BMW has decided to look to the original Mini’s rich history and iconic design language with its new Mini Seven, the first design model of the current Mk3 generation of Mini. Inspired by classic Mini aesthetics, with exclusively designed exterior and interior design features, this special edition also has a bespoke option pack developed specifically for the model called Mini Seven Chili. Taking its name from the very first Mini, the 1959 Austin Seven, the new Seven joins the current generation Mini Hatch range in 5-door or 3-door form.

New Volkswagen Amarok

Volkswagen’s premium pickup gains six-cylinder powerplant

More power is heading the way of the new VW Amarok 2016, when it becomes the only model in its segment with a high performance V6 diesel later this year, pushing out 224hp. In a class where more is better and muscularity matters, that should do the VW’s cause no harm at all. The pickup also gets subtly refreshed exterior styling and a new dashboard, revised and updated running gear and – perhaps most crucially – a larger towing capacity of 3.5 tonnes.
