Best cars at the Beijing motor show

A video round-up of the best cars at the Chinese Motor Show 2016

With a lot of models being showcased for the Chinese market, the Beijing Motor Show isn’t always at the top of the ‘big’ car shows to look out for each year with most of us turning out attention to Geneva or Paris, but this year there were some new announcements that we will get over here in the UK.

Aside from the mass of extended wheelbase cars like the XF L and the A4 L that China love for their extra rear legroom new announcements included the VW T-Prime Concept, VW’s biggest SUV yet that previews the new Toureg. At the other end of the scale Porsche released their new 718 Cayman that is now equipped with a turbocharged four-cylinder boxer that is actually more powerful than the outgoing car and more fuel-efficient as well.

Audi were also showing off their new sports car – the new Audi TT RS that gets R8 levels of performance for around half the price. Still using a 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine, the TT RS now produces 400PS for a top speed of 174mph.

Renault announced a big brother to the KADJAR, the new Koleos. Based on the Nissan X-Trail (in the same way the KADJAR is a Qashqai underneath) the Koleos is only a five seater but feels just as good in terms of quality and will probably cost around the same when it goes on sale as well.
